The Israeli author, Aharon Appelfeld was reported dead. Aharon Appelfeld, a Holocaust survivor died at Beilinson hospital near Tel Aviv on Thursday, January 2, 2018 and would be buried in Jerusalem on Sunday according to the report our correspondent gathered. He studied literature at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University and later became a professor of Hebrew literature at Ben Gurion University in southern Israel. He was one of the greatest writers of the 20th century and won several awards which includes the prestigious Israel Prize in 1983 and France’s Prix Medicis literary award for best foreign book in 2004 for his 1999 autobiography (Story of a Life).
