ACHIKE UDENWA, THE FORMER GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION FOR AN ALLEGED 350 MILLION NAIRA RECEIVED DURING GOODLUCK JONATHAN’S ELECTION CAMPAIGN.

The former governor of Imo state, Achike Udenwa has been arrested by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for an alleged 350 million Naira he collected during ex president Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election campaign. According to report, the former governor collected this huge amount of money from the Director of Finance for Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Senator Nenadi Usman during the 2015 presidential election campaign for Goodluck Jonathan. Our correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) learnt that Achike Udenwa who was the Imo State coordinator of the campaign organisation admitted that he received the money (350 million Naira) which was paid in three instalments on January 14 and January 28, 2015 but that he never knew that the money came from the office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
Also in Ebonyi state, Mr. Benjamin Okah (the former commissioner for Public Utilities in the state) was also arrested by the EFCC  in the alleged $12 million contract awarded to a United States-based company (Califco Group) in 2012. According to the information, the Ebonyi state government under the leadership of ex governor Martin Elechi paid a mobilisation fee of $10.8m to the firm in 2012 but unfortunately the project was abandoned. Mr. Okah was said to have received 83 million Naira as gratification through his two companies (Global Victory Allied Company and Mahco Mega Nigeria Limited) as alleged. This is unbelievable and unfortunate, such huge amount of money was looted from the state while people in Ebonyi state are dying of hunger and living in abject poverty.
Viewers Corner News and the advisory team is appealing to Nigerian politicians to be compassionate towards the Nigerian people they are leading who stood under the Sun to vote for them with the hope that they would create better living conditions for them by using the available resources in the country to achieve that purpose but instead these politicians keep looting the treasury of the country (Nigeria). This is too bad, these huge amount of money looted by Nigerian politicians and government officials is more than enough to create good services which would bring benefits to the Nigerian people. Again no good infrastructural facilities in the country, unemployment rate is very high, hunger is visible everywhere in the country yet these wicked politicians and government officials keep on milking the economy dry. Viewers Corner News shall continue to pray to God Almighty to rescue Nigeria from the hands of these corrupt politicians and government officials.
