According to the information, these Indonesians were held captive for three months by this rebel group (Abu Sayyaf) who have made huge sums of money from the kidnap business. The Philippine government said that the hostages release has made it a total number of nine captives released by the Abu Sayyaf in the past two weeks. The three hostages were handed over in Sulu to Nur Misuari (founder of the Moro National Liberation Front, a Muslim rebel group that has signed a peace deal with the government of Rodrigo Duterte) and Viewers Corner News is yet to find out if a r,ansom was paid before these hostages were released. Within the past two weeks, Abu Sayyaf had released three Indonesians, two Filipinos and a Norwegian man who they kidnapped last year from a resort alongside two Canadians that were later beheaded.
President Rodrigo Duterte who made security top priority for the country’s military (Armed Forces of the Philippines) has launched offensive methods in order to eliminate these rebels from Sulu and Basilan (where they have their strongholds). We also gathered that five Malaysians, four Filipinos, two Indonesians and one Netherlands citizen are still in the net of this rebel group (Abu Sayyaf).
