Viewers Corner’s correspondent in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal was informed that about three climbers have died and two missing on mount Everest (world’s highest peak). Ang Tshering (a member of Nepal Mountaineering Association) said on Monday that overcrowding and bottlenecks high on the mountain may have contributed to the fatalities.
According to report, an Indian citizen (Subhash Paul) was the third person to die when he was being helped down the mountain after few days a 35-year-old Dutch man (Eric Arnold) and 34-year-old Australian woman (Maria Strydom) died as a result of altitude sickness. Two other Indian climbers (Paresh Nath and Goutam Ghosh) are still missing as at the time of this report, also about 30 climbers have become seriously ill in recent days. Hundreds of enthusiastic climbers have reached the top of Everest in May from the Nepalese side of the mountain and last year 2015, not less than 19 climbers died during their adventures on mount Everest.
