Our (Viewers Corner News) correspondent who is monitoring Hurricane Dorian in Bahamas reported that not less than thirty people have lost their lives and the death toll is likely to rise further. Property worth about 7 billion dollars ($7bn) have been damaged and thousands of people are in need of help. The prime minister of Bahamas, Hubert Minnis said in a press conference recently that some people were looting on the Abaco Islands (the hardest hit Bahamas islands by Hurricane Dorian). It was also reported that about 70,000 people in the northern Bahamas need relief assistance. The US Coast Guard have rescued many people and about 60 people who were critically wounded were rescued by helicopter rescue crews. Also a team of disaster relief specialists from the Department for International Development (Dfid) have been sent to Bahamas by the British government.
