Viewers Corner News correspondent in Kosambi (Indonesia) learned that the two explosions at PT Panca Buana Cahaya Sukses warehouse (a fireworks factory on the western outskirts of Jakarta) have killed about 47 people and dozens of others seriously injured. According to the information, the first explosion occurred around 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 and about three hours later, another one happened. Deden Nurjaman (a search and rescue official) said that people were burned so badly that their faces could not be identified and that death toll is expected to rise. In Indonesia, fireworks are often used for religious and other celebrations. There have been series of major fire outbreaks in the country this year, including one that occurred at one of Jakarta’s main markets. The country has very poor industrial safety standards and rules are hardly enforced. May the souls of the dead rest in peace.
