Viewers Corner News correspondent in Algiers (the capital city of Algeria) learned that the interim president of Algeria, Abdelkader Bensalah has promised to organize free and fair elections within 90 days. He made the promise on Tuesday in a televised speech, saying that he will set up a national and sovereign commission to secure fair elections. Abdelkader Bensalah (upper house chairman) was appointed recently by the Parliament as Algeria’s interim president following weeks of protests that led to the resignation of Abdelaziz Bouteflika on April 9, 2019 after staying in office for 20 years.
