Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the 82 year old ailing President of Algeria has resigned after staying about 20 years in office (fourth term). For weeks, millions of protestors have been calling on President Bouteflika who is widely believed to be incapacitated due to illness to step down. Since 2013 President Bouteflika suffered from stroke, he has rarely been seen in public. He declared his interest to run for Algerian presidential elections (the fifth term) but later withdrew on March 11, then postponed the election which was scheduled on April 18, 2019 due to protests.
