Viewers Corners correspondent in Baghdad learned that about six people lost their lives when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the start of a major Shi’ite Muslim ritual near Iraq’s holy city (Kerbala) on Monday, November 14, 2016. The attack has been claimed by Sunni militants of Islamic State. Five of the suicide bomber’s accomplices were killed by the security forces and the bomber noticing that he has been surrounded in a house, detonated the device in the rural area of Ain al-Tamr. Shi’ite Muslims gathered in their thousands at the shrines of Hussein and his half-brother Abbas in Kerbala, where they were killed in the 7th century AD.
