Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) learned that the government of Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba state has imposed a round-the-clock curfew on Friday in rural communities in the state due to series of clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers of Mambilla ethnic groups. In the last few days, at least 10 people have been killed in Taraba state. Taraba state government imposed the curfew after consultation with security agencies in order to allow security operatives to restore peace. Since last year, there have been tensions in the country due to series of clashes between the herdesmen and farmers over land, water and grazing rights. President Buhari visited Taraba state this week and promised to help resolve the issue, and also vowed to prosecute anyone involved in the violence. Also more troops have been sent to Taraba state to help contain the violence.
