A NIGERIAN MAN, MR JIGHERE WELLINGTON IS THE WORLD NEW SCRABBLE CHAMPION.

Viewers Corner’s correspondent in Perth, Australia informed us that a 36-year-old Nigerian, Mr Jighere Wellington has won the world Scrabble championship.

Wellington who came third in 2007 Scrabble championship won this year’s competition by defeating Lewis Mackay (from Cambridge, England) with 448 points to 426 points on Sunday morning, November 8, 2015.

The competition which attracted more than 125 competitors from 18 different countries was held in Perth, Australia and the former champion is New Zealand player, Nigel Richards. Jighere Wellington of Nigeria becomes the first African to win World Scrabble Championship.
