One person was reported dead and four others wounded when a 34-year-old man (Kurdish Iraqi) armed with an M16 automatic rifle opened fire in a nightclub in southern Germany on Sunday, 30 July. According to the information our correspondent gathered, the gunman had a dispute at the club before killing a bouncer at the club’s entrance and wounded four people. He was later shot dead by police. The gunman obtained asylum status from Germany and had been living in the country (Germany) since 1991. This is just two days after a knife attack incident happened at a supermarket in the northern port city of Hamburg where a 26-year-old Palestinian killed one person and wounded six.
