It was reported that a district court in the eastern city of Chemnitz (Germany) has convicted a 33 year old man for taking the stiff-armed Hitler salute during the far-right protests in Chemnitz. The man was sentenced on Thursday to 8 months but shall serve the sentence on probation and a fine of 2,000 euro ($2,325) was also imposed on him. His sentencing came barely two weeks after a German man was killed, which a Syrian and Iraqi were arrested prompting days of anti-migrant protests in Chemnitz.
It was prohibited in German law to display Hitler salute, the swastika and other Nazi symbols.
