A COURT IN KENYA ORDERS THAT KENYAN OFFICIALS FROM THE NATIONAL DOCTORS’ UNION BE JAILED FOR ONE MONTH.

Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that a Kenyan judge has ordered on Monday that officials from the national doctors’ union be jailed for one month due to the union’s ongoing strike. According to the information, the Kenyan doctors in public hospital are agitating for Kenyan government under the leadership of president Uhuru Kenyatta to review their working conditions, job structures, criteria for promotions and also address the problem of under-staffing in public hospitals in the country (Kenya). The union which has about five thousand members have been on strike since December 5, 2016 and instead of Kenyan authorities addressing the union’s grievances, they want to jail the union’s officials for one month. This is bad. Again, Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists’ Union had warned that if Kenyan government jail officials from the national doctors’ union, the doctors in private hospitals would join in the strike.

We (Viewers Corner News and the Advisory team) are appealing to Kenyan government to review the demands of these doctors and other striking unions in the country (like Kenyan university lecturers who are also striking over pay) so as to settle all these grievances in the country because this is affecting the citizens of Kenya in a terrible way.
