A 43 YEAR OLD SWEDISH MAN NAMED MICHAEL SALONEN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON FOR SENDING A LETTER BOMB TO A BITCOIN COMPANY IN LONDON.

A District Court in Stockholm has convicted and sentenced Michael Salonen (43 year old Swedish man) on Friday, 9 November 2018 for attempted murder. Michael Salonen was found guilty for sending a letter bomb to a bitcoin company in London and also for sending threatening letters to lawmakers and government members in Sweden. He was sentenced to seven years in prison. According to the court’s report, Salonen sent a package containing two pipe bomb-like devices in August 2017 to Cryptopay (London-based bitcoin company) but fortunately the device did not explode when it was opened. Salonen’s DNA was found on the bomb by British police.
In 2017, a letter handwritten “you will soon be dead” was sent to Stefan Lofven (Swedish Prime Minister).
Salonen was arrested in May at Stockholm’s international airport upon arrival from Thailand where he had been detained pending extradition.
