A CRIMINAL COURT IN CAIRO (EGYPT) HAS SENTENCED FIVE PEOPLE INCLUDING MOHAMMED BADIE (MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD SUPREME GUIDE) TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR VIOLENCE RELATED OFFENCES.

It was reported that a Criminal Court in Cairo (Egypt) has sentenced the Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide (Mohammed Badie) and four others to life in prison for their involvement in the country’s 2013 violence after the military overthrew ex-President Mohammed Morsi (senior member of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood). This is one of the several life sentences handed to Mohammed Badie who was also sentenced to death in separate trials since 2013 he was arrested. Also four others were sentenced by the Criminal Court from 10-15 years in prison on the same charges (violence related offences).
In another development on Sunday (12 August 2018), seven people including two women allegedly involved in the thwarted attack on a Coptic Christian church (North of Cairo) have been arrested. According to the report our correspondent gathered, a suicide bomber identified as Omar Mohamed Ahmed Mostafa (29 years) with explosives belt tried to enter the church on Saturday but he was stopped by the security agents. The explosives blasted, killing only the bomber without harming anyone. No group has claimed responsibility for the failed attack.
