Kosuke Tsuneoka, A 47-year-old Japanese freelance journalist who was detained by the Iraqi authorities over suspicion that he is a member of the Islamic State group has been released. According to the information, Kosuke Tsuneoka specializes in the Middle East and was captured last month (October) by Kurdish-led, U.S-backed forces while reporting on the battle to retake Mosul from Islamic State. He was released on Monday, November 7, 2016 and was handed over to the Japanese Embassy by the authorities in the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq. Kosuke Tsuneoka also tweeted in his Twitter page that he has been freed.
