South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol

The sudden imposition of martial law has sparked an uproar in South Korea.

The South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol, apologised publicly to the people of South Korea for the sudden declaration of martial law and handing over power to the military. The parliament proposed impeachment of the South Korean president but failed after legislators from the governing party boycotted the vote. Sources had it that the sudden declaration of martial law was to combat threats from anti-state forces, which we think is related to North Korea. In our opinion, a good leader should have the interest of his people at heart like Yoon Suk Yeol did, but this struck fear in the hearts of all till the parliament managed to rule against it. This also means that whatever anti-state forces the military was after must have been scared or shocked at the impromptu act. This would help to slow down their plans, if any, keeping the people safe, that is, if these claims of anti-state forces are true. According to sources, various political oppositions were detained during the martial law, and many have demanded that Yoon should resign. The reasons are unclear, but this act has sent many to the streets protesting, and whether it has anything to do with North Korea is unknown. One thing we know for sure is that the parliament would do everything to make Yoon Suk’s reign short-lived to prevent their power from being usurped ever again.
