The Viewers Corner News correspondent in Asaba, Delta State of Nigeria revealed to us that a custom officer on duty slapped governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s personal assistant (Samson Nwachukwu). This incident, according to the report, happened along the Asaba-Benin express way. It was also revealed that Mr. Samson Nwachukwu did not retaliate when he was slapped; instead he kept his cool and swallowed the insult. The Viewers Corner News team appreciates him for that. We are calling on the disciplinary committee of the Nigeria Customs Service to look into the matter and have the custom officer disciplined. He should possibly be demoted because he is a disgrace to the Nigeria Customs Service. No matter what Mr. Samson Nwachukwu might have done, he should not have been slapped. If not for the government uniform the Customs officer wore, he would not have had the audacity to slap his fellow man. Hence, the Viewers Corner News team is calling on the appropriate authorities to have that custom officer punished because he crossed the line. This will teach every public officer in Nigeria that caution should always be applied when dealing with fellow human beings. The fact that you are an officer does not give you the right to humiliate other fellow Nigerians. It is very wrong to do so.
