If a presidential election is held in Nigeria today, and the candidate is chosen from the northern part of the country, specifically Fulani origin, that candidate will most certainly lose the presidential election, regardless of the political party to which he or she belongs. This is because of their dominance towards other Nigerians. Even those in the villages across the country have vowed not to cast their votes for a northern candidate of Fulani origin. Most Nigerians believe that the Fulani people are the same everywhere and will dominate other peace-loving people of Nigeria with their hidden agendas, like what President Buhari’s government is doing at the moment. These were the opinions of some Nigerians who spoke to Viewers Corner News correspondent in some cities in the southern part of the country. No one should blame these people for thinking that way. President Buhari’s first tenure was better than his second tenure. He knew very well that in his second and final tenure, no one would push him out of office, so his Fulani ethnic group capitalised on that to hurt and dominate the people of Nigeria. Look at President Buhari banning twitter in Nigeria, this is laughable because such pronouncement is like an elder who forbids meat but uses his teeth to divide the same meat among his children. President Buhari’s second tenure in office is a total failure, which is the truth, take it or leave it. Recently, he made a speech, threatening how he would deal with the people of the South East in the language they understand. As a leader, such a statement should not have been used. However, the Viewers Corner News team would use this opportunity to plead with Nigerian voters to think twice before casting their votes for anyone seeking a leadership position in Nigeria. Always ask questions to know the background of the candidate you are going to cast your votes for. Understanding your future leaders will go a long way in bringing peace and unity to the country. Even if the economic situation of Nigeria is not doing too well, at least let there be peace so that the people of Nigeria will be able to go out and fend for themselves without fear of being killed by Fulani Herdsmen and other bandits across the country.
