Information reaching Viewers corner through our correspondent in Abuja revealed that the Nigeria Former civil service chief, Mr Steve Oronsanye was arrested recently by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on alleged corruption charges up to the tune of 240 million Naira. This is unbelievable, Mr Steve Oronsanye was alleged to have collected the sum of 240 million Naira from the Central Bank of Nigeria to carry out a specific program on behalf of a committee but somewhere along the line, he diverted the said amount (240 million Naira) to his personal use. How careless and reckless can he be? This is not right and these are elders that are supposed to show good examples for others to follow and now they are the ones destroying the economy of Nigeria. This is unacceptable and no matter how good some group of people in Nigeria may be painting the former president Goodluck Jonathan and his government, all these alleged atrocities were committed under his care. He was unable to detect them and put an end to such terrible practices. This has shown that under ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership, almost every senior officer in every sector of the economy has skeleton in their cupboard.
Again with all these stolen millions/billions flying all over the country, how possible can a nation like Nigeria move forward? We expect Nigerians who are praising Goodluck Jonathan and his past administration to have a rethink because all these stolen wealth which he was unable to detect, if put into the Nigerian economy, we (Viewers corner) believe that it would go a long way in creating better and quality services for the Nigerian people. In as much as president Buhari’s economic policies has not yielded real benefits to the Nigerian people, one thing for sure is that his approach in trying to end corruption in Nigeria is the best so far. Therefore we are pleading with Nigerians to support president Buhari’s government because we believe that with time and proper planning, his administration would provide most things the Nigerian people need to live a normal and happy life.
If president Buhari did not come into office, all these stolen billions would never have been heard of or recovered. All what he needs is time and support of all Nigerians to achieve success.
