It was reported that the Nigeria’s former finance minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has emerged winner for the post of World Trade Organisation director-general. According to the report, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala defeated her South Korea’s opponent (Yoo Myung-hee) at the final stage after polling a total vote of 104 votes from 164 member countries to emerged the winner of the highly competitive post (World Trade Organisation director-general). She will become the first African and first woman to occupy the position at the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Congratulations.
