The people of Abia state (Nigeria) have not been lucky to have good leaders since the creation of the state which of course is the fault of voters in Abia state based on our (Viewers Corner News team) findings. Each time there is election in the state (Abia state), the voters elect very corrupt leaders to office as governors after some handouts might have exchanged hands which is bad. Even the current governor of Abia state may be worse than ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu who just earned himself 12 years jail term. The conviction of ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu who led Abia state for eight years and a very corrupt man who cares only for himself and his family but pretends to be a good man who is on the side of truth as he made people to believe is a welcomed news. If such an individual can steal over seven billion Naira state money which in our (Viewers Corner News team) opinion is huge, do you really think that such a human being would consider or take the welfare of his people serious? The answer is NO and before he left office as governor of Abia state (Nigeria), salaries of workers and pensioners allowances were not properly paid despite the huge amount of money that went to the state on monthly basis as federal allocation, the internal generated revenues were also there, yet ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu could not perform properly while in office as a governor. We (Viewers Corner News team) applaud the judgement of a federal high court in Nigeria for the 12 year jail term given to ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu who stole over seven billion Naira state money. We (Viewers Corner News team) expected that the court would have given him (ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu) up to 25 years jail term because he ruined people’s lives for stealing massively. However, this would serve as a lesson to other governors in Nigeria that what they do now to hurt the people of their states who trusted and voted for you to lead them may be used against you in the near future, so leaders be mindful of how you govern your states because it would no longer be business as usual where looting the treasury with impunity would be tolerated. We (Viewers Corner News team) would also use this opportunity to plead with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria (EFCC) to go after other ex-governors who stole money belonging to their states. There are lots of politicians like ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu who are still in Nigeria enjoying their loots, leaving people of their states in abject poverty. This group of ex-governors need to take residence in prison facilities, they are evil to the Nigerian society and should be made to pay for the atrocities they committed against the people of the country (Nigeria).
