Viewers Corner’s correspondent was informed that Governor Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna state has commenced the feeding of about 1.5 million primary school pupils in over 4000 public primary schools in his state (Kaduna). The governor flagged off the programme at Aliyu Makama LEA Primary School in Barnawa (Kaduna) and he stated that the programme will help to boost the nutritional and health aspects of the children as well as encourage children to attend school. Governor Nasiru El-Rufai also stated that the programme will create about 17,000 jobs for the caterers and others who will work with them. During his election campaign, the governor pledged to provide free education and School Feeding Programme. We also gathered that since the Kaduna state government introduced free education, enrollment into public primary schools in the state has risen by 64 per cent. Viewers Corner applauds Governor Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna state for fulfilling his election campaign promises and we are equally appealing to other Governors in various states in Nigeria to emulate Governor Nasiru El-Rufai and fulfill the promises they made to the people of their various states before they came into power.
